THE ENGLISH BULLDOG - AN ATYPICAL BODY TYPE AND AN AFFECTIONATE NATURE
A very specific facial and jaw type
The English Bulldog is a brachycephalic breed with the following characteristics: A short head, as wide as it is long, with a marked step in the forehead and a short nose. The English Bulldog’s jaws are wide and square. The lower jaw juts out over the upper jaw and curves slightly upwards (prognathism). This obviously poses problems for grasping its food, the speed of ingestion and in turn food can be left to waste.
A wrinkled skin that requires special attention
The many skin creases on the English Bulldog can predispose him to dermatological diseases. These creases are ideal sites for the development of bacterial pyodermatitis or dermatitis. It is recommended to check the skin's cleanliness and disinfect the creases at regular intervals (at least twice a week, or even every day in some cases) to fight the appearance of these diseases.
A “very active” digestive system
Because of his brachycephalic facial and jaw type, the English Bulldog is predisposed to digestive sensitivity and breathing difficulties. In fact, his digestive system tends to become compressed by his diaphragm. The intestinal cells also receive less oxygen, resulting in a lazy digestion that can lead to a rumbling gut and flatulence.

Helps promote good digestion and reduce flatulence:
By means of very highly digestible proteins (wheat gluten, pork proteins), insoluble minerals, rice as the only source of starch, fructo-oligo-saccharides and beet pulp.
Makes the food easier to grasp and chew:
By means of a tailor-made kibble whose size, shape and texture have been adapted to the English Bulldog's brachycephalic and prognathous morphology.
Helps strengthen the effectiveness of the skin’s protective barrier and helps promote skin health:
By means of a combination of vitamins and amino acids, associated with essential fatty acids (omega 6 and omega 3) and zinc.
